Network Discovery

To activate the Network Discovery function, please follow the steps bellow :

Windows 7

1. Make sure that the following Services are running (with auto-start) :

- DNS Client
- Function Discovery Resource Publication
- SSDP Discovery
- UPnP Device Host

2. Open the Control Panel , and click on the Network and Sharing Center icon.
3. In the left pane, click on the Change advanced sharing settings link.
4. Click on the « Network Discovery - Turn On or Off » to expand the network that you want to turn network discovery on or off for. NOTE : Normally this would be your current profile.
5. To Turn On Network Discovery, you must select Turn on network discovery.
6. Click on the Save Changes button.
7. If prompted by UAC, then click on Yes.
8. When finished, you can close the Network and Sharing Center.

Windows 8
1. Make sure that the following Services are running (with auto-start) :

- DNS Client
- Function Discovery Resource Publication
- SSDP Discovery
- UPnP Device Host

2. As a start, click Desktop tile on Start screen in order to go to Windows desktop environment that you are familiar with.
3. You can then right click the network icon on lower right corner of task bar area, after that click on Open Network and Sharing Center. Note : You can also open this Network and Sharing Center this way by going to: Control Panel-> View network status and tasks.
4. Network and Sharing Center will appear, proceed to click Change advanced sharing settings.

Go to your network location type (private, guest or public), after that click on the option to turn on network discovery. When network discovery in on, this computer can see other network computers and devices and is visible to other network computers. Finally click Save changes. Note : If you enable this network discovery feature for private network location type, you can also turn on automatic setup of network connected devices if you want.

Windows 8.1

1. Make sure that the following Services are running (with auto-start) :

- DNS Client
- Function Discovery Resource Publication
- SSDP Discovery
- UPnP Device Host

2. Click on Change advanced sharing settings
3. Go to the Private section and select Turn on network discovery".
4. Choose Turn on network discovery in the settings, and tap Save changes.

Windows 10
1. Make sure that the following Services are running (with auto-start) :

- DNS Client
- Function Discovery Resource Publication
- SSDP Discovery
- UPnP Device Host

2. Type network in the search box and choose Network and Sharing Center in the list to open it.
3. Select Change advanced sharing settings to move on.
4. Choose Turn on network discovery in the settings, and tap Save changes.

Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2
1. Make sure that the following Services are running (with auto-start) :

- DNS Client
- Function Discovery Resource Publication
- SSDP Discovery
- UPnP Device Host

2. Open the Control Panel , and click on the Network and Sharing Center icon.
3. In the left pane, click on the Change advanced sharing settings link.
4. Click on the « Network Discovery - Turn On or Off » to expand the network that you want to turn network discovery on or off for. NOTE : Normally this would be your current profile.

1. Make sure that the following Services are running (with auto-start) :

- DNS Client
- Function Discovery Resource Publication
- SSDP Discovery
- UPnP Device Host
